About the Author
Ikeda Masakazu graduated from Meiji Oriental Medical Institute in 1968. Since that time he has devoted himself to the clinical practice of acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbal medicine. He has taught many apprentices and presented numerous seminars in Japan as well as in Australia and the United States. He is the author of over 20 books in Japan, among them a well-known handbook series featuring clinical interpretations of the classics, including Basic Questions, Divine Pivot, Classic of Difficulties, and Discussion of Cold Damage. Ikeda Sensei is currently the academic director of the Meridian Therapy Association of Japan, and is in private practice on the island of Shikoku.

Great book on Japanese acupuncture.

pros...this was one of the books that really gives a good insight into the world of Japanese/Meridian acupuncture. For those of you out there, there are different styles of acupuncture in the world. Japanese or Meridian acupuncture is more based on the very classic Chinese acupuncture. Most schools here in the US teach a very different style of acupuncture, called Zang/fu which is more based on organs and has a Chinese herbal slant. While the Japanese or Meridian style is based on meridians or lines of energy vs. the organs.

But you can't go wrong with this book, with either style of acupuncture you do. Well at least if you are a pragmatist like myself. I like to find the good and useful and integrate it into my treatment style. I find that the point location and point combinations are very different from Zang fu style acupuncture. Of course if you understand what I'm talking about then I hope you can appreciate the knowledge that is stored in the book. And they have really cool and memorable drawings in the book which help with understanding the concepts.

cons...not much. Sometimes a bit difficult to get, but well worth the price and the knowledge inside. Lots of clinical pearls of wisdom inside.

Good information that is not available in other books. In his first look my husband found a solution for a client with a very unusual problem who had not been helped by any other methods. Maybe that was a fluke but it was a tremendous help for this particular person, and worth the investment for her even if nothing else comes of reading it -- but we have high hopes.

For me, are very good book, but you need in first step read or study some classic books or your school need to pass the basic, in my opinion. Really I saw the "classical in action", but the contet required a lot of time to study and think and surch in classic books.

It's very simple form, but requer to keep up your knowledge.

About the Author
ROY BIANCALANA is an author, speaker and certified relationship coach. For the past 10 years his mission has been supporting single people in the art of attraction, dating and creating conscious relationships. His work centers on The Dating Manifesto, a group of 7 conscious commitments that he has created to guide single people in their efforts to attract lasting love. Roy grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and attended Louisiana State University on a golf scholarship. After graduating in 1983 with a degree in Marketing, he became a professional golfer and competed nationwide for over 20 years, including on the PGA Tour and in 6 major championships. However, while Roy's professional life was successful, his personal life was not. After a divorce and then being dumped by his a fiancée 6 months before the wedding, he came apart at the seems. Out of desperation he hired a relationship coach to help him understand why his love life was filled with so much drama and pain. That work so transformed his life that he engaged in an intense 2-year coach-training program so that could help others unwind their relationship issues and attract lasting love--as he has. Roy now serves as the relationship expert for Fox 35 TV and News Channel 13 in Orlando, Fl. He has appeared on numerous other shows including, The Daily Buzz, Positive Living Radio Show, Golf Channel and ESPN radio. Uniquely Insighful!

Very insightful book. I have read many "singles" books over the years with similar messages, but this one goes way beyond it. I particularly like the section on male and female dynamics. In the midst of living on your own as a single adult, it is inevitable to have to wear both hats (masculine and feminine side-he covers this in depth). But living in this mode can interfere with generating attraction. This section alone sets this book apart from anything else I have read. Thank you Roy!

Attracting Lasting Love is not like other books that attempt to turn you into a girl magnet. The paradigm is flipped. Here, the focus is on the self instead of the external world. What are the shadows within yourself that prevent you from finding love? Why do relationships not work out? Attracting Lasting Love clearly explains the hurdles and provides actionable steps you can take to overcome the hurdles. Roy Biancalana's book stands out in a crowd of wanna-be's. I highly recommend it.

Roy Biancalana will end up in the same catagory as all the great healers and mentors of personal growth in our time. He has a keen insight into what makes for healthy relationship, and the barriers and boundaries that either keep us from it, or help us to create it. There is no question in my mind that this book can help people find the love they are looking for. He is a master of this subject.

Rushed

The storyline seemed to be rushed.

There was so much going on in the story, I thought there would be more detail than the brief explanations that were given.

Ellis and Carter's romance from 12 years ago, her father's dislike of Carter, the explanation of her engagement and the subsequent betrayal by her fiance, the relationship of the judge, DA, sheriff to the hotel, what happened between Carter and the
sheriff when he was younger, etc.

It felt like you were given a brief glimpse into a particular situation and then you were rushed into the next one. I kept going back and re-reading pages thinking I had missed something.

Also, Ellie irritated me to no end. I couldn't be upset that Carter was seeking revenge because she was such an idiot. I couldn't find any sympathy for her hangup, or her obsession. I think she got much better at the end than she deserved.

Oh well, just one person's opinion.

the boy gets the girl

A story of poor boy falls in love with rich princess, THE TYCOON'S SEDUCTIVE REVENGE follows Carter and Ellie who were childhood sweethearts but because of the disparity in their social and financial standing, they were forced to break it off.

But 12 years later, the situation has been reversed. Carter is a mover and shaker in luxury hotels while Elie's family owned hotel was going off the auction block, and Elie was part of the sale! Wanting to exact revenge for breaking his heart, Carter poses as one of the bidders. And he nearly won it, including getting Elie in his bed. But why does he feel like a rake for doing it? And why does he continue to protect Elie the same way he did when they were teenagers?

A fast-paced romance with steamy sex scenes. I would have given it 5 stars but the suspense element woven in kept me hanging until the end without any resolution. But, don't fear, though this issue was never resolved, it did not take away from the story.

This book is Rated M for Mature due to sexual content and violence.

Best Prep Book for the OCA Exam

Just passed the OCA exam with 95% score this morning. I wanna say "Thank you" to Mala Gupta. You wrote a wonderful book, not just for the purpose of passing the exam (which it serves well), but also helped me understand the language, like the inheritance relation between classes and interfaces.

I am a Java newbie, coming from non-programmer background, with no previous Java knowledge. I learned Java from this book and the Oracle online tutorial. I took me two months to get ready. The book is very friendly to read, covering right the exam objectives, with no redundant or intimidating information. Exam tips, Twist & Tale. chapter exercise, and mock exam are all awesome. Especially when you finish reading and look back when taking practice exams, you'll see how all the confusing points were carefully explained in the chapters. I skimmed through another exam prep book before the exam, you can tell the difference.

If Mala is writing a book for IZO-804, I'll pre-order that one.

Don't forget to download the ebook that comes along with the hardcopy one. I lost my hardcopy book halfway and finished the other half via the PDF edition.

Excellent - Tailor made for the exam

The biggest strength of this book is that it has lot of sample code coupled with explanations, this helps in grasping the concept easily, I would say this book is not just handy for the exam but also to learn the subject.

Loved the way the book gives a problem statement and then provides solution of whether to use X or Y, that way one understands the concept fully & also easy to remember. Mapping a real world situation to object oriented language always helps & the author deserves credit for taking that extra effort to do so in this book. The analogy of baby being born with object creation was one such classic example, you are never going to forget that.

The pictorial representation also adds fun to the reading.In cases wherever required, the author has also made good attempt to print out the compiler output for certain conditions. The comprehensive explanations provided for simple topics like 'Working with Java data types' is a matter to appreciate

'Rules To Remember' section is something I liked about this book, readers can use it as a cheat sheet, same is the case for EXAM TIP

This is classic book for beginners and tailor made for the exam, but if you are experienced programmer you might feel skipping some pages along.

Quick notes at the end of each chapter along with set of sample questions with detailed explanations are very helpful.

Overall, this book covers the topic for the exam in a comprehensive, detailed way and is definitely a worth buy.

Great Book, Terrible Test

The book flows very well, is very readable, and seems to be giving great advice to those who plan to take this test.

The test itself seems to have too little to do with real-life coding. Creating Java software is (or should be, I think) about using the language at a high level to do concrete things, usually based on reusing custom-built components and objects, rather than interfacing with language primitives in unusual and tricky ways. The arcane, academic topics that the test seems to dwell on too often don't correlate to much that's useful. The language should IMO be used as a tool, not as a platform for devising tricky questions full of misdirection that are analogous to a sadistic version of brain teasers. I see why there is a market for certification, but wish that someone would devise a more reasonable exam and certification, that tests fundamental knowledge of the language.
