Good for a novice, backyard builder.

I would recommend this book for beginner level people. While it does have a fairly detailed explanation of building a yurt, it is not suitable for anyone with a prior level of framing or construction. Homesteaders with basic hand tools may find this book helpful and the pictures are decent but for me personally it is a book I would give to someone with little knowledge of building trades.
There are no "blueprints" or mechanical plans of the actual parts, just the authors own way of building this structure is presented. It would be better in my opinion to research building methods of yurts and finding your own way than trying to emulate someone who is not a master level builder.
Overall I am happy with this purchase and I like supporting createspace authors, I would recommend for the novice.

If you really want to build a cheap home or vacation cabin, this is it!

Due to disabilities, I am not able to build one myself. But, if you are able, this is a very readable and comprehensive little book that will guide you step-by-step in building this hybrid yurt. The cost may be up a bit by now but it still shouldn't cost too much more. I think that anyone could do this with a little help and a modicum amount of wordworking/building talent.
